A Carefully Controlled Environment.
All Savvis data centers are built on raised floors and have high-volume, zoned temperature control systems to ensure that systems run under optimal conditions at all times. We also employ the very latest fire suppression and seismic engineering technologies to keep unforeseeable disasters from interrupting your business operations. Naturally, all systems are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year by world-class Savvis technical specialists.
Round-the-Clock Protection.
- HVAC. We’ve configured multiple air conditioning for proper heat dissipation and redundant (N+1) HVAC units within each data center. These are powered by both normal and emergency electrical systems. Additionally, we have installed cold water tanks that keep air conditioning units running when changing from direct power to generators.
- Fire suppression. To detect smoke from the earliest stage of combustion, we’ve installed fire suppression systems at each Savvis data center using state-of-the-art "sniffer" systems augmented by heat detection and dry-pipe sprinkler systems.
- Seismic engineering. Savvis has done extensive engineering to ensure that any data center located in a region prone to seismic activity is properly braced. We’ve installed seismic isolation equipment to cushion facilities against movement as well as earthquake bracing on all equipment racks. And the racks at all Savvis data centers — not just those in earthquake zones — are anchored to the concrete slab below a site’s raised floor.
